Lutz Stratmann was born in 1960 in Oldenburg.
After Abitur (German university entrance qualification) and military servicelaw studies and First State Exam in 1988.
Legal clerkship with a stop in Kapstadt, South Africa, 1990 Second State Exam. Then he took over the management of the Department of Cabinet Affairs and International Relations at the State Chancellery of Saxony-Anhalt.
1994 Lutz became a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament and was admitted as a lawyer in Oldenburg, with a focus on administrative law. As an elected representative, Lutz was legal policy and justice spokesman for his group. 2003 he was appointed Minister of Lower Saxony for Science and Culture. In this role Lutz was responsible for all academic and research institutions, all cultural institutions, adult education, in particular the part-time education and training, in charge. This position he held until 2010.
Since 2010 Lutz has worked as a lawyer and in the corporate and strategic consulting for small businesses again.
Lutz has a wide variety of experience from memberships in various supervisory boards and Foundation committees, he is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Volkswagen Foundation and other smaller foundations. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Oldenburg.
