As co-author of the prestigious practice handbook „Haunhorst/Schmidt, Die GmbH“ published by Haufe Verlag (Freiburg), he is familiar with corporate law issues in a particular manner.

In inheritance practice the subject of corporate succession is of particular importance. In addition to excellent expertise and economic understanding human empathy is needed in a special way.

Karl Heinz brings many years’ experience to IT-law, in particular completing national and international licensing agreements.

Born 1961. After finishing high school in Georgsmarienhütte law studies at the University of Marburg, Munich and Göttingen.

Legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg with stops at the Regional Court of Osnabrück and the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg.

Doctorate (PhD/Dr. jur.) at the University of Marburg with a thesis in Franchise-law.

Researcher at the Department of Civil, Commercial and Economic Law and legal computer science at the University of Oldenburg (Prof. Dr. Jürgen Taeger).

Admission as a lawyer in the law firm CT · HAUNHORST · SCHMIDT Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in 1998, from 2007 as managing partner.

1998 – 2016 associate professor of civil and commercial law at the University of Oldenburg.

Appointment as „Fachanwalt für Handels- und Gesellschaftsrecht“ (specialist solicitor for commercial and company law) in 2007.

Membership in the Corporate Law Association (VGR) and the German Bar Association.

Various lecturing in corporate law (design of company agreements for start-up companies, liability risks GmbH law, GmbH reform) as well as in IT-law.
