Expertise

Christian advises mainly medium-sized companies in all business stages. This is associated with the judicial and extrajudicial accompaniment of companies and executives, e. g. in the context of arbitration proceedings, also as arbitrator.

He is a member of the expert committee commercial and company law of Lower Saxony bar association Braunschweig, Celle and Oldenburg and member of the Court of Arbitration of the bar association for the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg (dept. of commercial and corporate law).

As co-author of the prestigious practice handbook „Haunhorst/Schmidt, Die GmbH“ published by Haufe Verlag (Freiburg) and author of numerous publications, he is familiar with corporate law issues in a particular manner.

In the consulting portfolio of Christian also European and international business law play a major role.

These include contractual arrangements in the law of corporate foundations as well as projects in national and international corporate restructuring law.

Born 1968. Married. 3 children.

1985 Study visit in South Africa as a fellow of the Standing Conference of the States (KMK).

1987 Abitur (German university entrance qualification) in Westerstede. After military service in Varel und Shilo (Kanada) law studies at the University of Tübingen, Hamburg and Würzburg. 1999 Doctorate (PhD/Dr. jur.) at the Bavarian Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (Prof. Dr. Horst Dreier). Legal clerkship in the district of the Berlin Court of Appeal; second job at the State Office for the Settlement of Open Property Issues Brandenburg and building an online contract database for small businesses and tradesmen for the Rudolf Haufe Verlag Berlin / Freiburg (“Contracts Online”).

1998 Admission as a lawyer in Berlin with a focus on contract law and corporate crime. Since 2000 lawyer in the CT-Group, since 2007 managing partner of the law firm CT · HAUNHORST · SCHMIDT Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH.

2006 Appointment as Fachanwalt für Handels- und Gesellschaftsrecht (specialist solicitor for commercial and company law) and appointment as a member of the expert committee commercial and company Law of Lower Saxony bar associations Braunschweig, Celle and Oldenburg.

2007 – 2017 Appointed to the Court of Arbitration of the bar association for the Higher Regional Court of Oldenburg (Dept. of commercial and corporate law).

Membership in the Association of Commercial and Company Law of the German Bar Association (DAV) and the Corporate Law Association – Scientific Association for Business and Corporate Law (VGR).

Numerous lectures on corporate law (liability risks GmbH law, GmbH reform).
